Mission Statement

Catie’s Closet improves students’ school attendance, emotional well-being, behavior and ultimately graduation rates by providing an in-school resources of clothing and basic necessities to students living in poverty.

Description

In Massachusetts, there are many school-based initiatives designed to support at-risk students. But consistent attendance is critical for this programming to be effective. Unstable living conditions and the challenges of poverty present students in low income communities with myriad barriers and difficulties every day as they struggle to stay in school and on track. Catie's Closet intervenes at the ground floor with a low-cost, highly effective, community-engaged initiative that helps kids stay in school.
