Mission Statement

Our mission is to perform for other Seniors and donate all monetary proceeds back to the Las Vegas community. The joy we see in the faces of the nursing home residents and adult daycare clients at our performances makes all the rehearsal and effort worthwhile. The exercise and camaraderie we enjoy as a dance company is also rewarding.

Description

The Silver Belles Dance Company, formed in 1985, is a non-profit organization comprised of women ages 55 and older who enjoy tap dancing and obtain satisfaction in contributing to the community. We practice once a week for 2 hours and perform monthly dance programs in senior living facilities, senior centers, hospitals and for civic functions from September through May. We do not charge for performing but accept voluntary donations. All donations received are given to local charities such as the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army, Safe Nest, and ASPCA. Members of the Silver Belles volunteer their time, purchase and maintain their own costumes, provide their transportation to performances and contribute a minimal fee to cover the rental of the Dance Studio in the Dula Gym, 441 E. Bonanza Road, Las Vegas.

Prior tap dancing experience is desirable.
