Mission Statement
The Glass Slipper Project recognizes that the high school prom experience is a significant and memorable event for girls, occurring near the end of theirhigh school years and coinciding with their transition to adulthood. Acknowledging the often prohibitive cost of prom events and attire for girlscoming from financially-challenged households, the Glass Slipper Project aims to help girls overcome financial obstacles by providing them withdresses and accessories at no charge. The Glass Slipper Project seeks to distribute these dresses and accessories in a setting where girls can "shop"for a dress of their choice, enabling them to feel special while preparing for this memorable event.
Description
The Glass Slipper Project collects new and "gently worn" formal dresses and accessories and distributes them free of charge to Chicago-area high school students in need of prom attire.
