Administrative Support Volunteer Description: Administrative Support Volunteers assist hospice staff with various clerical and operational tasks, enhancing the efficiency of hospice services and allowing healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care. Responsibilities: · Organize and maintain patient files and documentation. · Assist with data entry, filing, and inventory management. · Help prepare educational materials and resources for patients and families. · Support scheduling of appointments and volunteer activities. · Participate in team meetings and provide input on operational improvements. Qualifications: · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). · Previous administrative experience is a plus but not required. Assists with clerical work, filing, answering phones, etc. Prepares and mails of the bereavement information, newsletter or other literature. Makes admission packets, patient education materials, or other handouts. Assists the Volunteer Coordinator with Volunteer Training Sessions and other activities. Writes thank you notes for donations and sympathy cards. Attends monthly meetings, on-going education programs, support group, and/or social functions as appropriate or as requested. Maintains volunteer hours tracking

These positions requires volunteers to see patients at thier home or care facility. Description: Patient Companion Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support to patients receiving hospice care, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. They engage in meaningful conversations, share activities, and offer comfort to enhance the patient's quality of life. Responsibilities: · Visit patients in their homes or care facilities on a regular schedule. · Engage in conversations, listen actively, and provide emotional support. · Assist with light activities, such as reading, playing games, or watching movies together. · Offer respite care to family members, allowing them time to rest or attend appointments. · Report any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to hospice staff. Qualifications: · Compassionate and empathetic nature. · Good communication and listening skills. · Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy. Patient/Family Services Volunteer Provide various forms of assistance to patients such as comfort measures and supportive services to include reading to and writing for patient, sitting at bedside, and caregiver relief for families. This opportunity requires the volunteer to go to a patients home or home care facility to provide services. Volunteers may choose an area of preference and we will try our best to match a patient in that area or surrounding area. We are also looking for anyone who would like to volunteer their time in extracurricular activities like knitting or any type of craft and baking for us to hand out to patients/ families.
