Mission Statement
To provide meaningful and healing expressive arts experiences in the community and the natural world for refugee families resettled in Tucson who have been impacted by trauma, torture and traumatic dislocation. To help educate the community and beyond, about refugees in order to foster acceptance. And to honor the efforts of our volunteers who make this work possible.
Description
We seek to create a nurturing environment in which families can heal and to make our families and each person as whole as possible. Through words, art, and trips into nature, members of OP’s intergenerational group share with each other and the community while boosting their own literacy and confidence. Through safe, nurturing, group experiences, participants are able to heal and develop a sense of belonging.
