Mission Statement

The mission of REACH is to provide equine assisted activities and therapies through a program of inclusion for individuals of all abilities, including those with physical, cognitive and mental challenges, to help them reach their greatest potential.

Description

REACH, located at Wood's Edge Equestrian Center in south Johnson County, was founded in 2016 with the intent to provide children and adults, with or without disabilities, an opportunity to participate in equine assisted activities and therapies in a safe, welcoming environment. REACH is a member center of Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH Intl.) and utilizes PATH Intl. certified instructors and therapist certified by the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) to conduct a variety of equine assisted activities and therapies. Our goal is to help individuals reach their goals and feel a sense of belonging and self -worth. We serve a wide variety of individuals with special needs ranging from mild anxiety to significant physical challenges. Both mounted and unmounted activities are available to meet the needs of individuals. We are also part of the MTM Network of providers offering services to members of Missouri Care and Wellcare. We are continually expanding our program to meet the high demand for services and are in constant need of dependable volunteers to assist in many different ways. We are highly dependent on volunteers for our programs!
