ARIZONA MASTERS OF POETRY

Description

At the heart of Arizona Masters of Poetry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Phoenix is a passion and commitment to help young people rise to their potential and be the best versions of themselves.

We use spoken word poetry to foster positive change by supporting youth to have healthy, constructive conversations about the things that matter most in their lives. In addition, our programming supports the development of habits and skills that lead to academic and personal success.

We empower youth to become self-aware and self-reflective and to foster an environment in which youth learn to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and understanding. Arizona Masters of Poetry is creating a supportive, caring community where young people feel valued, understood, and heard.

We are proud to provide programs and workshops in schools, community-based workshops, poetry slams, and open mics, and our annual Hotter Than The Sun: Arizona Youth Poetry Festival each April during National Poetry Month. We are reaching hundreds of young people throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area with a message of celebration and respect.
