Hospice volunteers are a vital part of the Hospice care team. As a Hospice volunteer you would provide companionship to the patient, relief for family members and caregivers, administrative support in the office, or a variety of other volunteer opportunities. We want you to want to be part of our volunteer team so we make every effort to find a volunteer opportunity that best suits your interests in conjunction with the needs of our patients. Hospice volunteers make a true difference in someone's life by giving a small portion of their time. When you volunteer with Gentiva Hospice, you become part of a team of skilled, compassionate people who dedicate their time to a truly noble cause. Patient Visit Volunteers --- Visiting our patients to provide companionship and support through conversation, leisure activities, or by being a supportive presence. You may also provide respite for caregivers so they can have some time away for themselves. There is no hands on direct care required or expected of our volunteers, just your time. Volunteers needed to visit patients and provide companionship that reside in their private homes throughout the Fall River Area. Visits are scheduled weekly based on the need of the patient and a time that works well for you.
