Description

Texas Pet Rescue Emergency Response (TXPRER) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps Texan's and their pets prepare for natural disasters by educating the humans on weather conditions and storms and how these situations affect their furrbabies. Our goal is to help keep the pets out of the shelters and safe, and lower the number of pets that get lost when spooked by storms.

With the severe weather Texas is known to get, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding, there is a need for animal rescue efforts throughout the year. TXPRER assists with these natural disaster pet rescues and assists with other emergency situations.

In order to anticipate these needs ahead of time, Texas Pet Rescue Emergency Response has been collecting information on volunteers to assist with transportation, fostering, supply collection, and veterinary care. We also are always looking for additional people to build up our network of volunteers that assist us as needed during various situations.

When not assisting in disaster relief, we provide assistance with finding low cost microchip, spay/neuter or vaccines clinics to ensure everyone has access to affordable pet care.

The members of TXPRER consider themselves mandatory reporters of animal cruelty, and are active animal advocates and rescuers. We encourage those who follow our group as well as those who volunteer with us to learn the signs of animal cruelty, and if you SEE something, SAY something. The life you save may be more than that of an animal.
