Mission Statement

The program provides hands-on training with a focus on rain garden and cistern design/build, operations and maintenance, vegetation management, and ecological restoration.

Description

In 2015, the Duwamish Infrastructure Restoration Training Corps (DIRT Corps) was established in South Seattle as a community partnership program to provide on-the-job training for adult workers, specifically encouraging women, people of color, LGBT, and veterans to enroll. The program provides an acceleration of skills to build confidence in leadership that reflects the diversity of South Seattle, including Latinos, veterans, and under or unemployed people.
