Mission Statement

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Description

As a trained volunteer you:

  • Undergo a thorough screening process.
  • Interact with experts in the field and an array of staff members.
  • Provide much-needed support to victims of sexual assault and their loved ones.
Volunteer program and expectations

To ensure this is the right volunteer program for you, the following are the expectations and responsibilities of an online hotline volunteer:

  • Be at least 18 years old or older.
  • Must pass a criminal background check provided by RAINN at no-cost to you.
  • Required to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours of direct service on the Online Hotline each month.
  • Commit to at least 18 months of volunteer service. Start date is in-person training.
  • Adhere to and practice RAINN policies.
  • Work from the comfort of your own home.
