Mission Statement

Buckeye Pet Partners seeks to reduce and eventually eliminate the unnecessary killing in animal shelters throughout the state of Ohio. Working with the community, finding adoption placement for homeless animals, and being active in trap-neuter-return programs are the foundation of our organization. There is a better way to rescue than just putting homeless animals in cages for an indeterminate amount of time. Buckeye Pet Partners seeks to find a solution for every animal that comes into our care, whether that’s being released out into a managed colony, long term foster care, or adopted into a loving home. Our mission will always be to find solutions that are in the best interest of the little lives within our care.

Description

Buckeye Pet Partners is a collaboration of experienced animal rescuers who have come together to form a non profit, 501 (c) (3) tax exempt rescue organization. We have just launched and we couldn't be more excited! We're looking for volunteers, foster homes, and other support.

We are a partnership of rescuers- that means, keeping within the basic policies set by our board, EVERYONE in our group is welcome to share ideas, criticisms, and other information about animal rescue. We believe that working TOGETHER is how we make the biggest difference for animals in need in Central Ohio. Ideas put forth by our members and volunteers that have foundation, can be backed up with solid information, and have actionable steps will be considered by our board.

Buckeye Pet Partners is working to become one of the premier rescue resource groups in Central Ohio. We want to focus on not only adoptions, but also Trap-Neuter- Return projects and Pet Retention programs. Eventually we hope to be able to provide spay and neuter outreach assistance for people in the community.

Right now we are a network of foster homes, but our plans do include a brick and mortar cat community center for adoptions, community programs, a pet food pantry, and more. With your help we can achieve these goals even sooner and be a positive force in central Ohio rescue.
