Mission Statement

Musicians Against Gun Violence empowers musicians and fans to advance sensible gun reform by financially supporting candidates that will further policy to keeps schools and communities safe from gun violence.

Description

Musicians Against Gun Violence (MAGV) was founded as a Super PAC by activist/bartender Serena Fill, wife of singer-songwriter Dan Krochmal and aunt to two school-age nieces and a young nephew, following the tragic mass shooting in Parkland, FL. Established to fight the big money coming from the gun lobby, MAGV leverages the power of music to fundraise for ad campaigns in support of common sense gun reform candidates. This year our goal is to raise funds to strategically aid these candidates in the 2018 midterm elections.

Currently we are joining the Vans Warped Tour on select dates to activate fans, solicit donations and drive voter registration. Attendees are incentivized to donate and visit the Headcount and I'm Down To Vote booths at each show, with contest raffle entries and merch sales. Other fundraisers in the works include benefit concerts and online pledge drives.
