Description

Cops Against Cancer is a faith-based organization that focuses on the acute financial, educational & emotional needs of cancer patients and their families. Craig and Shirley Phinney founded the 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2010 after Craig’s diagnosis with stage 2 colon cancer.

During his recovery, the Phinney’s saw the struggles & overwhelming changes cancer families endured. They founded Cops Against Cancer with a mission that reflects their 35 years in law enforcement - to "protect and serve" cancer patients & their families.

Since 2012, Cops Against Cancer has assisted more than 975 cancer families in 78 of Iowa’s 99 counties. Every year, our organization strives to raise more to accommodate the increasing needs of our clients. Cops Against Cancer is proud of the fact that for the four years 85 cents of every dollar raised goes to client assistance programs. No one within the organization receives any financial benefit.

Cops Against Cancer has made it our commitment to making a difference in cancer patients’ lives. Our purpose is to not only provide assistance but also help restore dreams, goal setting, & normalcy to the lives of cancer patients and their families.
