Mission Statement

Sheila's Hope Animal Rescue, or SHARe, was formed to place unwanted or stray dogs into loving forever homes.

Description

The name Sheila came from an Australian Cattle Dog my wife and I adopted at the age of nine years old. She was being considered a sanctuary pet due to her snapping at an individual that pulled her tail. Sheila confined to the shelter where my wife and I met, and then further brought us together when my wife decided to adopt her first, then allow me to take her when I came back from being stationed overseas. Well we ended up all coming together in Texas, and we never once had a problem with her biting, simply because we avoided what triggered her behavior. She had been in a shelter since she was found as a stray at just a young age, less than a year. She lived 9 long years in a shelter, but the last 5 was in a loving home. She passed away at the age of 14, but here memory will live on through our rescue and through the shelter animals we save.

This is where you come in. In order to pull dogs we need available fosters. We can only house so many at our house and the few fosters we have to keep chaos to a minimum. At this point we desperately need more fosters to continue saving more lives. Fosters typically stay with a family for 3-4 weeks, but in rare cases may take a few months to get adopted. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more.
