Child’s Dream Regional Office in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is seeking a dedicated IT Volunteer Starting date - as soon as possible Together as a team, we at Child’s Dream are here to empower people in the Mekong Sub-Region. We do this by working in partnerships with communities to improve the health and education of their children, youth, and young adults for sustainable development. Our IT team needs your support to enhance and maintain our IT infrastructure across all our Child’s Dream offices in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. Under the supervision of the Regional Operations Director, you will contribute to improving IT policies, systems, and user experience, ensuring efficiency and security in our operations. Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Implement and manage a helpdesk ticketing system to streamline support and track performance. · Assist in developing and rolling out IT policies, security protocols, and training materials for employees. · Provide guidance on endpoint management solutions and contribute to improving our IT asset tracking. · Support the planning and execution of a secure cloud migration for our file server. · Contribute to system audits, compliance checks, and IT documentation. · Help generate regular IT reports for performance, security, and service metrics. We are looking for a person who meets the following criteria: Education and work experience · A strong interest in volunteering for an NGO and contributing to our vision and mission. · Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. · Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA IT Fundamentals, ITIL, or similar). · At least 10 years of relevant IT experience (preferred). Hard skills · Experience in IT policies and procedures, IT strategy development, IT risk management, and IT process improvement. · Knowledge of endpoint management is preferred. · Proficiency in IT report generation and analysis. · Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and cloud migration processes. Soft skills · Proactive, well-organised, and self-motivated. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail. · Ability to explain IT concepts in simple terms to non-technical team members. · Strong collaboration skills to work across teams and departments. · Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a diverse NGO environment. Language skills · Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Other requirements · This position is based in Chiang Mai and requires close collaboration with the Regional Operations Director, our IT Consultant, and the Regional IT team. A combination of remote and on-site work can be discussed, with a minimum commitment of six months required. Providing support to ensure fair practices in human resources and operational processes. Train Everyone Develop and conduct a training for all Child’s Dream employees during our annual workshop in Chiang Mai, taking place from 27th May - 29th May 2025, followed by an in-depth one-day workshop at our office to raise awareness and improve understanding of DEI-what it means and how to implement it in the workplace, daily life, and projects. Help line managers learn to lead diverse teams Raise awareness about DEI, our attitudes, and behaviors, and how they might be perceived. Develop an onboarding session for new employees and related ToT training so that the session can be conducted by the Child’s Dream HR Team going forward Supporting Continuous Growth Set up ways to report problems Design a user-friendly, self-assessment tracking system that allows the organization to regularly measure and evaluate the progress of DEI initiatives Create comprehensive DEI training resources to use for annual refresher trainings Our outcome New workplace guidelines and DEI guideline Training materials Tools to evaluate progress of implemented measurements Timeline Given the preparation time required for the two workshops-one to be conducted at the end of May 2025 and the other at a later date-the volunteer should ideally begin on 1 st May 2025. We aim to find a volunteer for a minimum duration of three months, which can be part-time if time permits. The goal is to conclude the project with the development of clear guidelines, and potentially a DEI guideline, along with an evaluation tool and onboarding and refresher training in place.
