Mission Statement

We liaison between the Veteran community and City Council President / Mayor of Philadelphia on Veteran accomplishments, issues, and policies. We serve the Philadelphia Veteran community comprised of over 67,000 service members and their families by connecting them with available resources, such as health / wellness initiatives, education programs, employment opportunities, and financial assistance. We continue to build strategic partnerships with 40+ nonprofit organizations and corporations to advocate for legislative change within the Veteran space.

Description

Since its inception in 1957, the Veterans Advisory Commission for the City of Philadelphia has been focused on connecting Veterans and their families with resources, claims, and benefits that they may be eligible for. In 2017, the organization has undergone restructuring to promote more awareness, provide greater accessibility and availability to all Veterans of Philadelphia. Now in 2018, there is a primary focus to turn issues and concerns at scale into policy reform and legislative change on behalf of Veterans and their families.
