Mission Statement

Desert Thrift Shop receives donations that are cleaned, repaired and sold as well as given to people in crisis to support our mission. Our mission is to help individuals and families that are in crisis in our community. Our new partnership with Purple Heart expands our mission to include assisting veterans by providing help to receive benefits and providing the things required for daily living.

Description

In March 2018, Desert Thrift Shop partnered with the Military Order of the Purple Heart to help our local veteran community. We continue to help individuals and families in crisis in the East Valley. In 2017 we helped 39 families, 23 other non-profits and 11 churches in the East Valley. We are just beginning our journey as the Purple Heart Desert Thrift Shop and hope to reach out to our veteran community to assist with their needs such as help receiving benefits or things required for daily living. Last year (2017), the Purple Heart Foundation helped over 18,000 veterans receive their benefits. Join us in our quest to reach out to those who need our help and friendship.
