All Our Kids (AOK) is a new organization with a long history. We have been supporting young artists-all of whom have enormous potential but too little support-for over five years. In the summer of 2016 we formed a nonprofit organization to provide more comprehensive support to our young people here in the Washington DC area.
Our core programs:Thursday Night Dinners (TND) are lively, diverse weekly gatherings of the AOK young creative people and the adults who help them pursue their dreams. Through Thursday Night Dinner AOK brings people of all ages and backgrounds to the table to support each other, to forge deep and honest connections, and to create a mutually supportive community. New York Times columnist David Brooks wrote a column about Thursday Night Dinner called, 'The Power of a Dinner Table.’
Mentoring/coaching. AOK provides a dense network of support from caring peers and adults for our kids. Once a kid joins the AOK family, we pair them with a mentor/coach who can help them with areas of need, provide access to an array of positive experiences and opportunities.
Life Support. We ensure all our young artists have adequate access to food, clothing, phones and necessities they need to negotiate every-day life. Not to mention things you just can’t put a price tag on, including love, trust and community.
