Mission Statement

We believe our mission is to enrich lives. We promise to care for the mind, body and spirit in a way that is comforting and compassionate.

Description

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing the quality of life, rather than the length of life. It neither hastens nor postpones death; rather it affirms life and acknowledges dying as a normal process. Hospice care stresses human values that go beyond the physical needs of the patient. It ensures that the patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort. At Heartland, we depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need. Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. As a hospice volunteer, you will have an opportunity to enrich the lives of others. You will meet and hear the stories of a wide variety of patients and families. Volunteering with Heartland provides significant value to our team as well as to our patients and families as we work together to provide quality care.
