Mission Statement
Our mission is to find better treatments and a cure for Fanconi anemia and to provide education and support services to affected families worldwide.
Description
The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund (FARF) is the world leader in advancing research for better treatments and a cure for Fanconi anemia. Founded in 1989, FARF has supported more than 245 grants to more than 160 investigators worldwide. Over the last 31 years, our outstanding donors have enabled us to fund $25 million in research grants.
Fanconi anemia (known as FA) is a complex disease that can affect every system of the body, and the severity of symptoms can differ widely from person to person. A diagnosis of FA has social, emotional, and financial impacts on the individual and family, as well. Being educated and supported throughout the process of diagnosis, and into treatment and management, is paramount to well-being and coping with a chronic disease. FARF offers a variety of services to assist those diagnosed and their families who register with us (at no cost).
