MAGRR's mission is to facilitate the foster care and adoption of displaced and unwanted Golden Retrievers, and to provide a good quality of life for these dogs. Educating the public in responsible dog ownership, reducing the abuse and neglect of unwanted Golden Retrievers through rehabilitation and adoption, and seeking to reduce the numbers of unwanted Golden Retrievers are additional purposes.
Founded in 2001, Memphis Area Golden Retriever Rescue (MAGRR) has saved, rehabilitated and adopted more than 2,000 Goldens throughout the Mid-South and New England. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the group has a regional reputation for high placement success rates and maintains long-term relationships with its adoptive families.
MAGRR is affiliated with the Golden Retriever Club of America’s National Rescue Committee and has developed a national network of members, donors, supporters and volunteers that is thousands strong. Focusing resources on one lovable breed has allowed MAGRR to continue making strides in its mission.
