Mission Statement

The DIAGNOSE CTE Research Project at is an NIH (National Institutes of Health) funded study focused on developing methods of diagnosing Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) during life and to examine potential risk factors for the disease. CTE is a progressive degenerative brain disease associated with repetitive hits to the head. Currently, CTE can only be diagnosed after death through an autopsy. This research study is designed to try and develop methods of diagnosing CTE during life, as well as examining specific risk factors for getting CTE.

Description

Men ages 45-74 are needed to serve as control participants for the DIAGNOSE CTE Research Project. Researchers need to study men who have never played contact sports to better our understanding of this disease. Contact us if you have no history of participation in organized contact spots, no diagnosis of brain injury or disorders, including dementia and depression, no problems with thinking, mood, behavior and memory. All travel expenses are covered. In addition, participants may receive up to $500 compensation.
