Mission Statement

We are an all-volunteer, public-benefit non-profit that receives funding through events, branded apparel sales, corporate giving and individual donations. We use these funds to contract local farmers to grow and harvest pesticide-free, sustainably produced eggs, vegetables and fruits specifically for active duty military families. These nutritious foods are harvested on a weekly basis and, within hours, are delivered to the doors of our recipient families stationed in and around San Diego County. The families receive these foods on a weekly basis, free of charge. Our outreach covers all of San Diego County and our North County neighbors living at Camp Pendleton. We see this as a model that other military-focused communities could easily adopt.

Description

We began operations on January 30, 2018. We held our first fundraiser, staffed an information booth at the Balboa Park Earth Fair, are staffing up for four consecutive Sundays at the Hillcrest Farmers Market, and are deep into planning our next fundraiser where we expect 75-100 participants. Our outreach has already positively affected dozens of active duty families and we have delivered more than 50 family sized portions of fresh, nutritious foods. Our goal is to impact 50-75 families per month and deliver more than 2,000 "shares" by the end of the year. As funding increase, we hope to expand our scope to include families of veterans, seniors and other poorly served communities within San Diego.
