Mission Statement

The Friends of the Spring Valley Library are dedicated to supporting the mission and programs of the library. The Friends of the library will support programs planned by local library staff, community outreach, and facility improvements. Funds earned from book sales will be used to support the planned activities. The Friends aim is to engage the community in Library programs. It seeks to upgrade the quality of library services through gifts, reading materials, and collections of books. The Friends of the Library will donate time and materials, advocate for library programs, such as, the Summer Reading Program, which encourages kids and teens to read year round. Members will support cultural activities scheduled yearly.

Description

The Spring Valley Friends is a non-profit, volunteer organization that supports and raises money for the Spring Valley Library's programs and services. The money raised is used for library materials, programs, or any needs the library has. The Friends accomplishes this by holding weekly book sales. The Friends sell donated books, dvd's, cd's and magazines in good condition in the Booktique bookstore and online through Amazon.
