Mission Statement

Here at the Angeles Dream Foundation, we are all about improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through giving such individuals opportunities to volunteer, work, learn skills, and have a space to call their own. We believe that any given person is capable of bringing immense value to our world if they are just given an opportunity. And through our programs, the hope is that these individuals can, in return, show the world a love that might not have been expressed otherwise.

Description

Through GivingTree , an initiative of the Angeles Dream Foundation , we have several branches of programs and volunteer opportunities which are geared towards bettering the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

1. GivingTree Thrift , previously known as Giving Tree Community Store, has been a staple of the foundation's causes since 2012. Today, it operates in South Los Angeles as a pre-employment training space for such individuals, while also serving the local community by selling donations at very low-cost prices.

2. GivingTree Roasters was launched in 2018 and is a barista and coffee roaster aide training program for individuals with developmental disabilities, in conjunction with the California Department of Rehabilitation, local regional centers, and Ignasius Coffee of Los Angeles.

3. GivingTree Coffee is our very own coffee bean business. We sell beans roasted by our very own Roasters! We are also looking to open our very own cafe that employs our students.
