Description

We are a research center open to the public with a collection of "sustainability-and-the-built environment" resources. Our book and periodical collection includes information on: alternative and natural construction, permaculture, business eco-practices, efficient wood use, intentional communities, healthy home environments and many more. The Green Resource Center also houses a growing building materials sample library, (also known as our "petting zoo"), which includes: natural fiber carpet and padding, bamboo flooring, recycled glass tiles, natural linoleum, non-toxic insulating materials, engineered wood products and asbestos alternatives. In addition, the Green Resource Center offers the "ask an expert" service which refers interested parties to local architects, designers, planners and solar energy efficiency specialists for free phone consultations! The center is open and available to anyone who is interested in finding out about sustainability and the alternative approaches to creating environmentally safe and healthy systems.
