Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our mission is to support the care and conservation of chimpanzees worldwide. We work directly with the Ngamba Island Sanctuary in Uganda, home to 49 rescued chimps, raising funds and awareness in the USA. We work with other organizations, companies and individuals to support activities, including habitat conservation, sustainable livelihoods, research & education.
Friends of CSWCT (Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust - Est. 2008), more commonly known as Friends of Chimps, works with its partners to develop and implement long-term strategies for the care and conservation of chimpanzees and their habitats. We raise funds to support:
- The long-term health and welfare of orphaned and/or rescued chimps living at sanctuaries who are unable to be returned to the wild. We fund veterinary care, medical supplies, food, staff training and the rescue & transport of chimps to sanctuaries;
- Emergency situations that directly impact the welfare of sanctuary chimpanzees as well as wild chimpanzees, including veterinary intervention;
- Conservation initiatives benefiting chimpanzees and their habitats;
- Community development projects near wild chimp populations and areas where human-wildlife conflict has occurred.
