Mission Statement

At ProMedica Senior Care, a not-for-profit, mission-based provider and part of the ProMedica Health System, we care for people nationwide but a single principle within Our Vision binds them together--we are dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services. We research, evaluate, train and implement the care programs that work toward the highest practicable level of well-being for our patients and residents. The footprint may be large, 26 states across the U.S., but instilling our proven care principles and protocols is just as broad in carrying out our commitment to quality.

Description

Hospice isn't a place. It's a philosophy of care. Our mission is called enriching life.

ProMedica Hospice(Formerly Heartland Hospice) is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether care is desired in the home a patient has lived in for years, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient's and family's unique needs.

ProMedica's caregivers enrich our patients' lives and provide support by developing individualized care plans, setting goals, encouraging personal choices, working together in caregiving decisions and supporting meaningful experiences. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Social workers and spiritual counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes and concerns. And special bereavement programs provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping.

ProMedica Hospice supports the patient and family wherever they are in their health care journey, and upholds the patient's and family's wishes, goals and values. At ProMedica, we help preserve our patients' dignity, show them the respect that they richly deserve and provide compassionate care through our Caring Promises.

This volunteering opportunity gives you insight on the hospice process and on the know-hows of administrative work. You will learn to organize and label well. The people working at the office help you with any questions and create a great environment to be in. I hope to volunteer there next summer.
