Mission Statement

The Garden State Threshold Choir is a chapter of Threshold Choir, and the first in New Jersey. Threshold Choir is a network of a cappella choirs who go by invitation, in small groups of 2-4 singers, to the bedside of hospice patients and others at the thresholds of life. We bring musical solace to patients, their caretakers and families by singing gentle songs in harmony.

Description

The Garden State Threshold Choir became an official chapter of the international nonprofit organization, Threshold Choir in March 2018. We began our mission to bring comfort to those facing life's thresholds. Our songs come from a repertoire developed by Threshold Choir specifically for this work. They are simple and nondenominational, and are usually sung in three-part harmony. We honor all spiritual paths and have no religious affiliation.

We are seeking singers who hear this calling to them. There is no formal audition, but we ask that you able to carry a tune, hold your part, blend with others, and accept feedback in order to create the most blended and graceful sound possible.

We rehearse on most Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, in Whippany, NJ (near the juncture of Rt. 80, Rt. 287, Rt. 10, and Rt. 24) and also on Zoom.
