Unlocking Potential is a charitable organization that strengthens the problem-solving and leadership capacity of the community-based organizations tackling our nation’s most difficult problems -- so that they can realize their potential and maximize their impact.

Description

Unlocking Potential is founded on the core leadership philosophy of its Chairman, Carly Fiorina, that leaders are made, not born; that everyone has far more potential than they realize; and that people living closest to the problems are best positioned to solve them.

Through a two-day, intensive, hands-on experience and six months of supported experimentation and implementation through coaching, UP provides an opportunity for anyone - not just those with a certain title or position -to develop the behaviors, characteristics, tools, and disciplines to become a leader and maximize the impact of their work in their communities.

It takes a certain sort of individual with a certain set of skills and belief system to volunteer with this organization. What impressed me is that they interviewed those who wanted to volunteer - showing that they don't accept just anyone. What disappoints me is the lack of communication that can happen in the lulls between the events they need volunteers to participate in; however, knowing this is a start up, I believe they have lots of room to grown and I hope to be part of their journey as I believe in their cause.
