Mission 1. Educate youth on dog safety by promoting humane ways of communicating with dogs. 2. Advocate against the use of aversive tools in pet dog training. Vision 1. To help kids build bonds with rescue dogs through reward based dog training. For kids to gain valuable life skills, i.e., problem solving, self esteem, compassion, force free communication. 2. We build on the symbiotic relationship between dogs and children, where kids teach dogs, and dogs teach kids.
Human Animal Bonds for Life, Corp. is a non-profit organization under tax code 501C3. It was founded by Leby D. Gonzalez, owner and operator of Rocco’s Pack Dog Training, a force free dog training company located in North Miami offering private, group, day and board and train programs in Miami Dade County and some of Broward.
Realizing the need for education in modern day pet dog care, handling and training, HABL was founded with the intent to educate children, since they are the future and are most impactful.
In line with our mission and our vision, our two fundraising activities are City Dog 5K and City Dog Summer Camp. City Dog 5k is a 5k and 1 mile doggie dash that you can walk or run with your dog...and your kids, and your stroller, and just about anything else you can think of. City Dog Summer Camp is a 5 to 6 week children’s dog training summer camp, where kids ages 7 to 12 are paired with a rescue puppy to form a dog-handler team. Children learn force free ways to train and communicate with the puppies, while gaining valuable life skills and advocating for their puppy’s adoption. Puppies also benefit as they enjoy modern care and handling protocols. All puppies are available for adoption throughout the program.
We also have several smaller events throughout the year in which we advocate education and responsible dog ownership.
