Mission Statement

Through workshops, tutoring, and summer camp sessions, to teach creative and analytical writing and the appreciation of literature to children and adults of all socio-economic backgrounds; and to promote literacy and the love of literature in the community.

Description

Since 2005, Peninsula Young Writers has offered summer writing workshop to local youth ages 8-14. We reach out to under-served communities to offer summer enrichment camps and we develop youth leadership through our counselor-in-training program. Many of our campers return year after year and eventually become camp counselors themselves. We aim to increase the love of writing and literacy among all children.
