Crush Childhood Cancer provides emotional and financial support to families with children battling cancer. A cancer diagnosis can have the same financial impact as a 20% reduction in family income. The impact is often more severe with pediatric cancer as one parent often must stop working to navigate their child's treatment plan. The emotional impact is unimaginable. Crush exists to help offset those expenses and walk along side families as they battle cancer. Whether we sit with parents as they wait for scan results, babysit siblings or provide help with the bills, we strive to make sure our families know they are not fighting alone.
Crush Childhood Cancer (Crush) is the ongoing work of a junior class project. Our Executive Director was 16 and assigned a class project aimed at impacting the community in some way. Harnessing her love for kids and a desire to walk along side those who are hurting, Samantha , now 23, asked if she could help kids with cancer and Crush was born. From our humble beginnings we have given away over $150,000 to local families and are hoping to break the $200,000 this year. As a result of us being 100% volunteer run we are able to give 100% of our proceeds to our families.
