Mission Statement
Water & Health For All strives to fight preventable water-related disease in northern Uganda through targeted, evidence-based, sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions.
Description
Water & Health For All (WHA), founded in 2015, is a community non-profit organization fighting preventable water-borne disease in Gulu, Uganda through sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) interventions. Water-related diseases such as dysentery, typhoid, and cholera cause more than 1 million premature deaths worldwide each year. WHA conducts data-informed, evidence-based interventions in partnership with the local community and municipal authorities to fight these diseases by catalyzing sustained improvements in communal water source governance, drinking water quality and supply, sanitation adoption, and hygiene practices. WHA has helped an estimated 6,500 vulnerable people to sustainably access clean water, and provides water quality testing services to an estimated 75,000 users of groundwater sources in Gulu, Uganda. WHA is a fiscally-sponsored project of the 501(c)3 registered Joy To The World Foundation.
