Mission Statement
Association for India's Development (AID) is a volunteer movement committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. In solidarity with non-violent people's struggles, AID supports grassroots organizations in India and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources, health, women's empowerment and social justice
Description
Association for India's Development (AID) helps volunteers in the U.S. who are interested in sustainable development in India to connect with organisations working in various interconnected spheres. In the US volunteers work to raise awareness as well as funds for supporting efforts in India, and also study the issues and policy framework in which people are working and struggling. With more than 30 chapters active throughout the U.S. volunteers have studied, campaigned and implemented projects in areas of sustainable agriculture, water and energy policy, local governance, universal health, disaster relief, meaningful education, and livelihood generation.
