Mission Statement

The Hillcrest Center mission statement speaks to our historical commitment to children and families: To promote the well-being and holistic development of all children, youth, and families of the District of Columbia and surrounding areas through comprehensive, culturally responsive, family and community focused services, education, and advocacy.

Description

Hillcrest Center was originally established as the Washington City Orphan Asylum to care for homeless and destitute children who were casualty of The War of 1812. In keeping with its original charter and consistent with the vision our Founder, First Lady Dolley Madison, our good work of the past has traveled with us to present times. Today, we are an outpatient behavioral health agency with locations at 915 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, and 3029 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE Washington DC. Our full range of services is designed to meet the psychological needs of children, adolescents, adults and families who are confronted with emotional issues in today’s society. Hillcrest Center staff is committed to providing quality care that promotes the well-being of children, adults and families to ensure that their mental health needs are met within their homes, school, and community environments. We have programs that offer assistance to approximately 1500 clients a month ranging from anger and stress management to addiction counseling.
