Mission Statement

How Women Lead was created for women who believe in making a powerful impact in the world. We fearlessly forge ahead where other organizations do not go. Our diverse women leaders tackle issues of equity and impact and band together to collectively make change and support each other to greater success. We impact issues like women’s leadership on corporate boards, in the C-Suite, in film and public office. We support the courageous leaders who build change organizations but lack the means to raise funding and connect with investor networks.

Description

How Women Lead elevates diverse women leaders in the corporate, public, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors by cultivating a robust network that trains, invests in, and connects women executives positioned to be catalysts in their fields. Founded in 2011, the organization brings together women to strengthen their leadership tool boxes and networks to effect greater impact in their respective fields. With over 3,500 leaders, the organization has expanded the breadth and depth of its impact. How Women Lead's philanthropic arm, How Women Give, provides grants and valuable connections to women’s and girls’ organizations on the frontlines of today’s most critical issues. In 2017, it became managing partner for the national 2020 Women on Boards effort to increase the percentage of women on U.S. company boards. In March 2018, Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) merged into How Women Lead. How Women Lead will continue GWLN’s transformative leadership training, Women Leaders for the World, and coaching program for global leaders. It will also continue to collaborate in the ground-breaking Collective Impact Partners, a partnership with four other globally engaged gender equality organizations.
