Mission Statement

Girls Rock! Phoenix is a non-profit organization that empowers girls through music creation, education and performance. We provide a safe and supportive environment for girls from diverse backgrounds to take risks and challenge gender norms. We encourage girls to rise up and rock out!

Description

At Girls Rock! Phoenix, our mission is to empower girls through music education, creation, and performance. We do this mainly through our summer rock camp for girls, trans (regardless of identity), and gender nonconforming youth. Campers will learn a rock instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform it at the end of the week. We are part of the Girls Rock Camp Alliance ( girlsrockcampalliance.org), an international coalition of almost 100 similar programs. We are 100% volunteer-run, not-for-profit, and a 501c3 organization. Our planning team is made up of musicians, community organizers, educators, and other folks interested in encouraging girls to rock.
