A child's level of responsibility, confidence and self sufficiency affect self-esteem. The staff values each child's individual personality. Teach conflict resolution through discussion and negotiation.

Description

Nestled among tall oak and pine trees, St. Francis Preschool has been serving families in the North Bay Area since 1967. A safe environment, both physically and emotionally, is provided where children are given the opportunity to become curious learners who are socially competent, cooperative, self-reliant, motivated, confident, and considerate.

St. Francis Preschool provides morning classes for children beginning at age 2 years, 9 months ( 3 by December 1st), afternoon Pre-K enrichment classes, Parent/Child classes for children who are 2 by December 1st, and a summer program. All of our programs focus on encouraging children's social, emotional, physcial, and cognitive development.

Daily activities include art, music and movement, literature, natural and physical science, and pre-reading and pre-math experiences. The spacious playground, which includes a safe, rubberized surface, provides opportunities for imaginative and vigorous play. A positive approach to discipline has always been used.

St. Francis Preschool is a private, non-profit organization. We are an inclusive community that welcomes families of all beliefs, races, cultures, and backgrounds. Although we are part of the St. Francis Episcopal Church, religion is not a part of the curriculum. For those interested, there is an optional chapel program for Preschoolers and their families before school on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
