Mission Statement

The Committee to Restore Shepherd Parkway, a project of the Anacostia Coordinating Council, works to improve environmental quality, public health, and community pride in the least affluent and most polluted areas of Washington, DC by dramatically reducing the burden of trash and invasive species in wooded areas of Ward 8.

Description

Since 2011, the Committee to Restore Shepherd Parkway has held more 100 volunteer events, drawing over 2,000 volunteers. They have removed over 300,000 pounds of trash from the woods and cut invasive vines from over 500 trees.
