Cross Benefit provides childcare services to the working poor. Childcare is provided by Christ Centered high school and college students who are trained, hired and mentored by Cross Benefit.
Childcare can exceed 50% of the net income for working poor families. As a consequence, many families simply cannot afford to work or children are left at home at a very young age. Providing childcare not only helps parents work, children are provided a safe, mentoring environment. As a result children feel secure, do better in school and experience the love of Christ. For childcare providers, working for Cross Benefit is significantly different than the average babysitting job. Childcare providers are trained and CPR certified. In addition to meeting the safety and care needs of the children under their care, Cross Benefit providers make sure homework is done, provide age appropriate Bible studies and strive to leave the family home in a better condition than when they arrived. By helping to lift the chores parents normally face when they return from work, parents can focus on their relationships with their family.
