Mission Statement
The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) works in partnership with AmeriCorps VISTA to support non-profit agencies in Central and Southern Arizona with designing and developing sustainable projects that promote and enhance effective refugee resettlement and integration.
Description
The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) VISTA Project supports non-profit agencies with designing and developing sustainable projects that promote and enhance effective refugee resettlement and integration. The IRC, Catholic Charities, and the Refugee Women’s Health Clinic are just a few of the organizations where RRP VISTA members currently serve. They contribute their skills to projects involving employment, volunteer recruitment, education, and more.
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members bring their passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. The most pressing challenges we face as a nation require the most courageous and creative people to address them. An AmeriCorps VISTA member serves as a catalyst for change, living and working alongside community members to advance local solutions.
- Benefits include: choice of an end of service education award or cash stipend, healthcare benefits, childcare benefits, relocation allowance (if moving 50+ miles), professional development training, and Federal Noncompetitive Eligibility
