Mission Statement
The mission of the Wakefield Farmers Market (WFM) is to provide locally grown produce and help local farms remain vibrant, as well as promote our town as a cultural arts, recreation, and dining destination so as to bring more business activity to our town, and bring neighbors together to commune and share resources.
Description
Since 2009, WFM has been open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each Saturday from mid-June to mid-October at Hall Park, Wakefield MA (GPS 468 North Ave.) There are an average of 22 vendors each week, including 6 farmers and a number of specialty food vendors coming each week and some biweekly, and artisans coming less often on a rotating basis. We typically have live music, a nonprofit guest, and a number of special events for kids throughout the season. Our market offers matching funds for SNAP recipients and, pending continued funding, one farmer offering HIP.
