Mission Statement
PowerMyLearning is a national non-profit organization with the mission of helping students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.
Description
PowerMyLearning, formally Computers For Youth, was founded in 1999 by Elisabeth Stock and Dan Dolgin to actualize their shared belief that technology can play a transformative role in education, particularly in the lives of low-income students and their families. The pair realized that a home computer introduced with the right wrap-a-round programming- including educational software, training, and technical support- could help families create more robust learning environments at home, and could help teachers take advantage of more learning time. Our signature program, the Family Learning Workshop, was developed at this time and remains a core service.
