Mission Statement

Life Connections of the Carolinas’ mission is to create the conditions for all individuals, families, and communities to strengthen themselves. The conditions we create start with helping the client discover a shifted perception of their environment. We teach our clients the skills to self-evaluate, manage stress, and connect with other individuals. We create these conditions by mentoring, supporting, and advocating for our clients. We are family based with a no eject, no reject policy. We provide programs in both English and Spanish to maximize communication amongst our clients. Life Connections of the Carolinas practices Perceptual Control Theory, a scientifically based theory on human behavior and brain science. We believe the answer is within each individual.

Description

Life Connections is an agency dedicated to "Keeping kids out of jail - Keeping adults from going back".

There are currently three programs offered through Life Connections of the Carolinas extended across eight counties. There is -D-A-S-H- Re-entry, which offers life skills courses to incarcerated men, women and juveniles. They also provide wrap-around services to recently released individuals. -D-A-S-H- Strengthening Families is a program intended to increase self- evaluation among all parents and youth alike and to help repair and/or build healthy relationships within the family. Finally, -D-A-S-H- Mentoring is designed to provide youth and their families with a natural support mentoring experience based on the "youth initiated mentoring" model. Through helping the young person take an inventory of the supportive adults already in their life, the youth builds social capital and learns how to seek out natural supports.
