Mission Statement
The Glenn Family Foundation (GFF) H.E.L.P.S. mission is to offer ambitious young adults the opportunity to serve the needy and underprivileged by using their current talents and newly trained skills we provide. H.E.L.P.S. stands for Health, Education, Love, Protection and Spirituality; these are the pillars of our outreach.
Description
Throughout the year, GFFH accepts applications from youth around the globe. Those who are selected attend a 1 month training course. This course is delivered by GFFH and is uniquely tailored to fully prepare representatives for their placement. Some of this training will be related to the specific work the representative will undertake and some will focus on personal development. We try our best to match your interests with current projects as they become available, however this depends on the specific needs of the projects at the time.
After training, the representative is deployed to the project for a period of at least five months. GFFH covers reasonable accommodation costs and pays a stipend for food. We also issue you with appropriate technology to keep in contact and report to us.
The weekly schedule will be tailored to each project, but typically includes 8 hours of volunteer work per day. Representatives are required to report to GFFH at regular intervals in the form of Skype interviews, video diaries, photographs and written reports.
Upon successful completion the placement, you return home and receive your financial gift which you may use as you wish, perhaps toward your future studies, to travel or to start saving. This gift is only available to those who complete their placement.
