To provide year around sports training and competitions in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults ages 8 and up with intellectual disabilities.

Description

To promote the best that the athlete can be in whatever sport they do. This encourages teamwork, self worth and making friends.

I volunteer as an Assistant Track coach. My son started about 8years ago with Special Olympics and has blossomed into a wonderful, outgoing individual. He has gained confidence in himself and made some wonderful friends. I almost feel that I have gained more than him. the individuals are loving and with encouragement can accomplish the self pride within themselves. I can be having the worse day and just being around these athletes can turn the day around. Special Olympics offers you the opportunity for unconditional love.
