Mission Statement
The Oakland Technical High School PTSA provides an energetic forum for parents, caregivers, teachers, students, staff and community members to share ideas, identify opportunities, and help support and improve Oakland Tech. The PTSA is a member of the California state PTA and works toward the PTA's goals, in particular to: • Represent, inform and mobilize members and the public to advocate for the education, health, safety and well-being of all children; • Engage and empower our members and mentor the leaders of tomorrow; • Strengthen our voice for all students by increasing membership and member engagement; • Promote and practice inclusiveness; and • Foster positive outcomes for every student.
Description
Oakland Technical High School is a vibrant multicultural and multilingual community of more than 2,000 students, nearly 200 dedicated educators and staff and thousands of passionate alumni and supporters. Our vision is for Oakland Tech to be a model of equity and access, using high-quality pathways and social-emotional supports to ensure that every student takes ownership over their learning, engages in rigorous academic discourse, and graduates ready for college or a career.
