Mission Statement

The Monroe County Health Department's Division of Environmental Health (which includes the Bureau of Water Quality Planning) promotes the improved health status of the community by providing the community including individuals, business and industry, institutions and government with:* information and education* inspection of facilities or conditions that affect public health and the environment* enforcement of provision of the Public Health Law, Environment Conservation Law, the New York State Sanitary Code and the Monroe County Sanitary Code* emergency response to incidents that threaten public health and the environment* coordination of program planning for County activities that protect public health and the environment.
